00 – About Volume Three
Again I’ve mentioned this many times in the past, on this site, in my author’s notes, etc… but when I first started Coldwater, the intention was to write a novel in blog form spontaneously and without edit – day by day – letting the story develop itself organically.
And as I said in the past as well, as life had a little habit of getting in the way from time to time, I was forced to take some breaks, figure things out, and all that complex stuff.
And now here I am, a while away from the night I had originally dreamed up the idea of Coldwater with two Volumes already in the books.
That said, as Volume Two is complete and I will be furthering the story by posting chapters I had already written, I’ll be holding firm to my original intention for the concluding third volume. Here you’ll find the rest of the story written by me the day it was posted. Although I never really know where I’m going when I start aColdwater Chapter, by now I’ve a pretty strong grasp as to who my characters are and where they’re going.
The Third Volume will be told in real-time in three structured acts: Chopped-up Lines, The Come-Down, and What is and What Should Never Be…
I can’t give an exact figure as to how often I’ll be posting… but if I learned anything from writing the first two volumes, despite a few breaks here and there, the actual writing of both books took less than a month. Perhaps this will be the case forVolume Three.
Apart from telling the story in real-time, I plan on making this an interactive experience for readers by implementing a few brainstorms here and there. In regards to the above mentioned it may take a week or two to get the site back up and rolling in full swing, but bear with me here… I’ve a lot I want to do with this project and have had a lot of time to put it all together.
